• SC amends rules on law student practice.
  The Supreme Court (SC) conducted the Regional Roll-out and Training Workshop for Central and Eastern Visayas on the Revised Law Student Practice Rule. SC Associate Justice Alexander Gesmondo chairperson of the Oversight Committee on the implementation of the Rule, said that the law was amended because law students would be able to develop their skills and to be socially aware when they become lawyers. On the other hand, Joan Largo dean, of USC Law and president of the Philippine Association of Law Schools said that the implementation of the rule 138-A will take effect in 2020 -2021 in all law schools nationwide. Largo added that this Rule is a requirement for all the law schools without the need for accreditation and this student law practice will be part of the curriculum and a mandatory requirement for a law student to have rendered law practice before taking the Bar Examinations.
