Abstract
The purpose of this study was to come up with the value profile of the private elementary school principals and teachers in Region VII, whether they would fit into the model for the Filipino teacher in the year 2000, equipped with the values of “pagsasarili” or self-efficiency; “pakikipagkapwa tao” or concern for others; “makatahanan” or love of home: “makasambayanan” or concern for the community; “makabansa” or concern for country; “makasandaigdig” or concern for the world; and “pananampalayata” or faith in the Supreme Being.
It sought to determine their profile in terms of the four independent variables; namely, sex, age, educational qualifications, and teaching experience and in terms of the seven value categories. It also sought to reveal the relationship of these variables and the value profile depicted. In the light of the findings, an improved, well- planned, and workable private schools reorientation program of value development for principals and teachers, was expected for implementation by the Regional Team charged with the task of implementing the PRP and the TRP.
The descriptive method of research presenting the profile of the respondents in terms of their demographic characteristics and their value profile was used.
