Abstract
This study aimed to determine the work immersion performances of the Senior High School (SHS) students in Cebu City Division. The findings of the study served as basis for a proposal action plan. Specifically, the study answered the following particularities: profile of the thirty participants in terms of their age, sex, type of high school graduated and general average grade 11; performance of the respondents in the work immersion as assessed by the employer respondents; significant relationship between profile of the respondents and their performance in work immersion; significant differences on the performance of the respondents when grouped according to K to 12 stands; and experiences of the senior high school participants in the context of before, during and after work immersion.
A purposive random sampling was employed to select the participants. The research instruments used were the researcher-made questionnaire, assess the performance of the participants, the participants log book and form 137A. Statistician analyzed data gathered while the narrative responses were formed into themes.
Based on the results of the study, the following conclusions were drawn: 1. Majority of the respondents were female, they came from public school and most of them were at advanced level when it comes to their general point average. 2. Partner industries assessment to students showed they have an overall very good performance. 3. Results showed that there was no significant relationship between the profile of the respondents in the K -12 strands and the performance of the respondents in work immersion assessed by the employer. 4. There was a significant difference on the performance of the respondents when grouped according to their gender.
Results also revealed six (6) emergent themes that were constructed out from the responses of the informants, two (2) themes per main topic presented. Two themes came up on the informants’ experiences before work immersion started; In Sync with Immersion and Exposure to the Tug- and - Pull between Expectation and Reality. For the during the work immersion experiences I formulated To Experience is to Learn and Imprints on Mind and Heart and Lastly, for the after the work immersion experience, Treasure Untold Now I hold and Make it to Win it were the formulated as themes
